Privacy Policy for Unconditional

UNCONDITIONAL.AI PTY LTD ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Unconditional mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: Your email address, or the name and email address Sign in with Apple shares with us. Guest accounts have no email address.
• Display Name: The name you choose to be called during sessions
• Sessions: What you say and Gaia's replies, transcribed as you speak. Whether a session is saved depends on its privacy level (see Section 5).
• Session Recordings: Audio recordings of sessions, only while a session is set to "Help improve Gaia"
• Notes You Bring Into a Session: Text you paste or share into the App stays on your device. The App sends it to us once to create a short summary, which Gaia uses during the session. We do not store the original text.
• Things You Add Later: Takeaways and your edits to them, next-step check-ins, practice notes, answers to weekly reflections, and your guidance preferences (level, pace and silence)
• Feedback: Ratings and notes on Gaia's responses, and your answers at the end of a session
• Problem Reports: When you report a problem: your description, any screenshots or photos you attach, an optional voice note, and your device model, iOS version and app version

Information Collected Automatically

• Session Details: When a session started and ended, its duration, the training module, the app version, the AI model used, message counts, and a device identifier (Apple's identifier for vendor). For a session that ends off the record we keep only its start time.
• App Usage: When the App opens and which screens you visit, linked to your account. These records contain nothing from your sessions and are not collected if your Settings choice is "Off the record".
• Diagnostics: Session logs, error logs, crash reports, performance timings, device model and iOS version, only for sessions set to "Help improve Gaia", or outside a session when your Settings choice is "Help improve Gaia"

Information We Do Not Collect

• Location Data: We do not collect GPS, city, or any location information
• Contacts: We do not access your contacts
• Camera and Photos: We do not use your camera. We only receive photos or screenshots you choose to attach to a problem report.
• Advertising Identifiers: We do not collect them or track you across other apps and websites

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide the voice AI companion experience
• Keep your saved sessions for your personal review
• Create summaries and insights from saved sessions, including titles, wisdom logs, takeaways, session analyses, weekly reflections, and answers in Ask Gaia
• Track your progress through training modules
• Show reminders you set up. These are scheduled on your device and may show a takeaway on your lock screen.
• Create share links when you ask us to
• Count how the App is used, so we can see which parts are useful
• Review sessions, recordings and technical logs to improve Gaia and fix problems, only for sessions set to "Help improve Gaia"
• Respond to your support requests and problem reports
• Administer your program enrollment

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

These providers process data according to their own privacy policies and our data processing agreements. During internal development and testing, our staff accounts may additionally route sessions through OpenAI or Google voice services; participant sessions do not use these voice services, and we will update this policy before that changes.

Note: We do not use any third-party analytics tools (like Mixpanel, Firebase Analytics, or Google Analytics). App usage records stay in our own database.

4. Data Retention

• Saved sessions, recordings, and the summaries and insights made from them: Retained until you retract or delete the session, or delete your account. Changing your Settings choice, or moving a saved session between "Just for me" and "Help improve Gaia", does not delete anything.
• Off-the-record sessions: Only a record of the start time is kept
• Problem reports and feedback you send: Retained until you delete your account. If a report or note is linked to a session, it is also deleted when you retract or delete that session.
• Diagnostics and error logs: Deleted after 30 days
• Performance timings: Kept for up to 2 years. They contain timing and technical measurements, not transcript or audio content. They remain linked to your account and session, and are deleted if you retract the session or delete your account.
• App usage records: Retained until you delete your account
• Notes you bring into a session: The original text stays on your device and is excluded from device backups
• Account information: Retained until you delete your account
• Deletion-prevention record: When you delete your account, we keep a minimal record of your sign-in identifier and the deletion status indefinitely. It contains no session content, display name or email and is used only to prevent deleted data from being restored or linked to a later sign-in.

You can delete individual sessions or your entire account directly in the app, or request deletion at any time by contacting support@unconditional.ai.

5. Your Privacy Controls

Privacy Levels

Every session has one of three privacy levels:

• Off the record: Nothing from the session is kept.
• Just for me: The session and its insights are kept in your history. Developers can't view them. Nothing is recorded.
• Help improve Gaia: The session is kept, and approved developers can review it, including its recording and technical logs, to improve Gaia.

Your choice in Settings is the level new sessions start at ("Just for me" if you haven't chosen). Beta testers using a TestFlight build start at "Help improve Gaia", which they agree to by joining the beta, and can still choose any level. Each session then keeps its own level: changing Settings never changes a past session.

Changing a Session's Level

You can change a session's level while it runs (the privacy icon at the top of the session screen), on the screen that follows it, or later from the session's menu.

• Moving a saved session to "Just for me" stops developers viewing it, its recording and its technical logs. Nothing is deleted, so moving it back restores their access.
• Moving a saved session to "Help improve Gaia" lets developers review it. A session is only recorded while it is set to "Help improve Gaia", so a session that was "Just for me" has no recording to share.
• Choosing "Off the record" for a saved session deletes it, as described below. We ask you to confirm first.

Off-the-Record Sessions

You can take a session off the record at any point, and switch it back until the session ends; switching back keeps the whole session. When a session ends off the record:

• Nothing is recorded
• The transcript was visible during the session only, and is discarded
• To run the conversation, audio still streamed to xAI and recent conversation text was sent to Anthropic for checks during the session. We do not store either.
• Only a record of the start time is kept

Retracting or Deleting a Session

You can delete any saved session from its menu (Privacy, then Off the record). That deletes its transcript, recording, analysis and wisdom log, and the session is never included in anything we do in the future. You can also delete a session from your history.

Sharing a Session

If you share a session, anyone with the link can see its takeaways and wisdom log, and the transcript if you include it. Share pages are not listed in search engines. A link stops working if you take the session off the record or delete it, or delete your account. Contact us to turn off a link sooner.

Data Export

You can export a saved session's transcript and summary as a text file from its transcript screen. Contact us if you need a copy of all your data.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app (Settings, then Delete Account), or contact support@unconditional.ai and we will do it for you. Guest accounts can't be deleted in the app; contact us and we will delete yours. We keep only the deletion-prevention record described in Section 4.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure authentication via Supabase Auth
• Row-level security in our database
• Access controls limiting who can view your data

7. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for adults aged 18 and older only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including:

• Australia (our company location, and Supabase, which stores our database and recordings)
• Singapore (Render, our backend servers)
• United States (xAI, Anthropic, TypeSafe, OpenRouter, Google, Sentry, Apple)

We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

9. Your Rights

For All Users

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your personal information
• Change your Settings choice, and any session's privacy level, at any time

For Australian Users (Privacy Act 1988)

We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles. You have the right to access and correct the personal information we hold about you, and to complain about a breach of the APPs; we will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

For European Users (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to:

• Object to or restrict processing
• Data portability
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

For California Users (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect and how it is used
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

We do not sell your personal information.

10. Do Not Track

The App does not respond to Do Not Track signals because we do not track users across third-party websites.

11. Third-Party Links

The App and this website may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new policy in the App
• Sending you an email notification

Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
